For every 100,000 people in Togo, there are only four doctors, compared with 256 doctors in the United States. As a result, most people rely on witch doctors or tribal doctors to attend their medical needs — often causing more harm than good.

Donating to the “Togo South Patient Care Fund” will greatly help this underserved area that has urgent needs. The official name of the hospital is “Hôpital Baptiste Biblique (HBB)/Karolyn Kempton Memorial Christian Hospital, Togo”.

Hôpital Baptiste Biblique or Karolyn Kempton Memorial Christian Hospital is a 40 bed full service hospital which opened in 1985. Annually, Hôpital Baptiste Biblique provides care to over 2,200 inpatients, including around 1,500 surgical cases. The hospital averages 600 deliveries per year. The hospital also runs a Nurse Training Program. The Mobile Health Clinic and Community Health Evangelism ministries are outreaches of Hôpital Baptiste Biblique. The hospital is staffed by missionary medical personnel and trained Togolese employees. In addition to ABWE missionaries, short-term personnel are welcome and many have come through the Samaritan’s Purse World Medical Mission program. The sole purpose of HBB is to use medicine to reach into people’s lives with the Good News of the saving power of Jesus Christ.
